Meditation

Meditation
We live in an increasingly stressful world, the abrupt change in our routines, the pressures related to maintaining a good state of health in the face of this pandemic make techniques as ancient as meditation are increasingly useful in maintaining a good mood and to be more calm. πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ

But what happens in our brain when we meditate:

1. Meditation prevents your brain from aging rapidly, scientists have argued that those who meditate have a less old brain, brain tomography studies show that those who meditate have more gray matter, therefore younger brains. πŸŒ±πŸ‘§

2. If we meditate on the episodes of permanent self-criticism that decrease happiness, they are increasingly distant and sporadic because the person who has this habit manages to be more sure of himself and therefore happier. ✨🌟

3. If you manage to have a habit as wonderful as meditation, you will avoid the use of anxiolytics and antidepressants and therefore will not present their adverse effects. 🌻

4. If you maintain a stimulus of peace, harmony and relaxation through meditation, areas of the brain such as the hippocampus could over time increase its thickness, which would improve the capacity of learning and memory in your brain. ⚑🌼

5. With meditation, the area that anatomically occupies a brain structure called the amygdala is reduced, in charge of generating in our brain the feeling of fear, anxiety and stress, therefore if you meditate you will be more relaxed, happy and cheerful, thus controlling the aging process cerebral. ☘️🌿

Metabolism & FTO gene

Metabolism & FTO gene
Obesity is currently a public health problem worldwide, which is defined as the abnormal or excessive accumulation of fat at the starting point of a caloric income higher than required. πŸ”πŸ¦πŸŸ
This worries and occupies many scientists around the world, among the many causes of obesity is the thrifty gene theory that we will explain below:

All human beings have been genetically designed to survive in an environment totally contrary to the one we live in today, it means we still carry genes from evolutionary processes that are not those of today and in which the human being had to manage to feed and power survive. πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺ

So more and more people talk about this theory that was raised for the first time in the world by a scientist named NEEL more than 40 years ago, this renowned scientist demonstrated that the human being has been marked by human evolution, being currently increasingly adaptive and efficient to survive even in adverse conditions unlike previous times such as the period before our ancestors lived.
They had to eat while there was to save and store, because there was no guarantee of being able to hunt another animal again, in addition to depositing all the excess calories as fat to survive the food shortage.

What happens with our metabolism today and the saving gene, that we still have the gene and we must know it and act to help our body avoiding obesity and preventing diseases by taking some of the actions that I will propose below:

1. We must take steps to reduce the portions of the food we eat.

2. Take care when consuming and know the caloric amounts of foods when consuming them and avoid those that contain more calories.

3. Increase caloric expenditure by doing physical exercise at least three or four times a week, walking, cycling.

4. Eat more at home, taking care of the ingredients in our recipes and avoiding unhealthy foods.

These, among other actions, will help us improve our health and keep the saving gene under control and thus help metabolism. 🍎
